Choosing a Building Society
Most building societies provide roughly the same basic services and accounts, although some building societies only work in certain geographical areas, or for certain purposes. For example, the Ecology Building Society uses deposits to fund mortgages and loans for houses and projects that are ecologically related or help to renovate derelict properties.
To choose a building society, look at the specific areas you are interested in and then select the one which offers the best combination of services and fees that suits your personal requirements, or the one which is local to you.
